Frequently Asked Questions

What is a shaman?
A shaman is an indigenous healer, who uses plants and herbs to heal others. Shamans enter Altered State of Consciousness (ASC) and journey into Non-Ordinary or Non-Linear Reality. In this Altered State of Consciousness, characterized by a change in brain waves, a shaman can change their energy field to interact with the energy field of other people or objects.
Where do shamans live?
Most shamans live in isolated indigenous societies across the globe. It is very difficult to find an indigenous shaman in the United States. The key is connection to an indigenous tribe or bloodline. One cannot just take a weekend class, then declare themselves to be a shaman. Most shamans are native bloods, or First Nation descendants.
How do I find a shaman?
I recommend any of the shamans in the novel Elemental Shaman, including Gary Gent and Lee Cantu. You can visit www.shamanicconnection.com to get in touch with Gary. Or www.leecantu.com to chat with Lee.
Is this stuff real?
The phenomena is VERY real. During my travels, I have experienced divination, telepathy, telekinesis, unexplained lights, unexplained heat/temperature anomalies, and time shifts. Shamans are real, the phenomena is real.
What are some shamanic abilities?
Common shamanic abilities are divination, astral projection, telepathy, healing abilities, diagnosis, immunity from disease, remote viewing, and dream interpretation.
What is soul retrieval?
Soul retrieval is the quest to regain parts or aspects of the fragmented self. Shamans tell us that our individual soul consists of different pieces representing periods of growth in our life. Soul pieces may appear as a child, a teen, or an adult. During periods of stress, our soul pieces shear off. Psychologists call this cognitive disassociation. A shaman will journey to locate this missing soul piece. This journey to find parts of the soul is known as Soul retrieval. Soul retrieval is an effective way to deal with PTS (Post-Traumatic Stress), repressed memories, psychological trauma, physiological abuse, depression, and feelings of disconnectedness. Once the soul piece is returned, the patient generally fells happy, more aware, more centered, and more connected with reality.
What can a shaman do for me?
A shaman can help you heal trauma from your past, aid you in achieving a feeling of wholeness, provide you a connection to the native world, foretell your future, and heal your maladies.
Are you a shaman?
No. I consider myself a guide. If you can't go see the shaman, I will bring the shaman to you. I have a unique ability that allows me to find and see these healers across space and time. This is how I locate shamans.
Where can I learn more about shamanism?
I would recommend a survey course in shamanism, to gain an understanding about this fascinating practice. Good books are Shamanism: Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy by Mircea Eliade, The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner, Secrets of the Talking Jaguar by Martin Prechtel, Soul Retrieval by Sandra Ingerman, and Elemental Shaman by Omar W. Rosales.
Many people advertise themselves to be shamans, are they legit?
Typically no. There are very few shamans in our modern day and age. Again, shamans are born different. One cannot just take a weekend course, then advertise themselves as a shaman. Shamans are also indigenous. These healers are the results of genetics and native bloods, the holy blood or sang raal that gives shamans their power. There must be a bloodline connection from one generation to another, to pass along these skills.
